By ship

The coastline of mainland Croatian extends the length of 1777, 7 km, a coastline of the island is 4012.4 km. Of some 350 ports and harbors on the coast and islands, seven (Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Sibenik, Split, Ploce and Dubrovnik) can accept large seagoing ships, and all are located on the mainland coast. Those seven ports along the river ports (Vukovar on the Danube, the Drava Osijek and Sisak on the Sava river) is concentrated at the Association of Croatian ports.
The most popular are lines between the Italian (Venice, Trieste, Ancona, Pescara and Bari) and Croatian ports. Daily ferry line connects Rijeka and Split during the year. Line continues to Dubrovnik three times a week.
