Sharing a ride

Carpool
Carpool is not yet a very common way of traveling in Finland, though it is becoming more popular. Carpool as a form of transport is mainly used in the capital area.

Hitch-hiking
Hitch-hiking is not common in Finland. You may end up waiting for hours on the side of the road before anyone gives you a ride. If you decide to hitch-hike, it is advisable not to do it on your own, but to always have a friend with you.
