Looking for some nature
In the Netherlands there are 20 National Parks and many other interesting natural places. Almost al natural sites in the Netherlands are man-made. Some are already very old, but in a densely populated country as the Netherlands very few natural are always left to themselves. Have a look at www.nationalpark.nl
See something special? Go to the Wadden Islands, a chain of islands and sandbanks in the north of the Netherlands. The islands can be reached by boat, have large beaches and nature is special and divers with all kinds of sea birds, sea hounds and rare plants.

The Tulip bulb that came from Turkey
The Tulipflower which is cultivated all over the country in glasshouses originally came from Turkey in the mid-16th century when bulbs were traded within Europe. Tulips bloom in April and May for only about a week and you can watch this spectacle best at the yearly flower exhibition in Keukenhof near Lisse.
