By train
Trenitalia offers, by request of passengers, information and assistance to disabled people. The assistance Centres in the main stations have to be contacted 24 hours before the departure.

Railways in the north of Milan and in the countries of Varese, Como, Novara, Brescia and the link to the Malpensa Airoport are not led by Trenitalia but by Le ferrovie Nord Milano. In this company, only the new train are accessible to disabled. In the other case, the assistance concern only in the climb and reduction from the train.
By ferry
Ferries are usually accessible. It is necessary to inform of the presence of a disabled person at the moment of the reservation, explaining the needs: at the departure, an official will organize the boarding.
