How to find a doctor/hospital/medical service
If you need a doctor or a hospital: - look in your local telephone directory ( golden pages: www.pagesdor.be [EN, FR, NL]). In the golden pages, doctors can be found in section 963. In the white pages, you will find doctors in the Doctors pages (or Docteurs en médecine in the francophone section and Artze in the German-speaking areas) of each town. In the white pages, phone numbers are classified in alphabetical order for each village or town. In the golden pages, hospitals are in section 990 while, in the white pages they can be found in category Ziekenhuizen, Cliniques or Krankenhäuser (depending of the region). Every hospital has its own emergency number. - phone the national phone number search service : 1207 [NL], 1307 [FR],1407 [DE] or 1313 [FR, NL] 24/ 7. Give the operator the name of your municipality (town) and the type of doctor you need (general practitioner, specialist...) and he will give the information wanted. - surf on internet to find a hospital or a doctor in Belgium. Out-of-hours service (from Friday evening until Monday morning and for public holidays)

Brussels Doctors: 02 513 02 02 Dentists on duty: 02 426 10 26 - Internet : Some municipalities (towns) have the out-of-hours services indicated on their websites. If this is the case, use their search engine (type services de garde and the name of your municipality). - newspapers The out-of-hours services (doctors, chemists) are indicated in the Friday edition.
- out-of-hour chemist Out-of-hour chemists (nights, weekends and public holidays) are indicated on the door of every chemist. In Brussels, you can also phone the free number 0800 20 600 to find the chemists that are open after 11 pm. You can phone the paying number 0900 10 500 or go on www.pharmacie.be [FR, NL] to find the closest out-of-hours chemist in all other areas.
