How to apply?

Education is highly valued in Finland, and the high standard of education forms one of the corner-stones of the Finnish national strategy which is based on a desire to develop the country as an information society.

The usual requirement for university studies is the matriculation examination or a three-year vocational qualification. Application periods vary but most programmes have their application period in the spring. The educational requirement for polytechnics is the completion of general upper secondary school or a vocational upper secondary qualification. Joint application system is used when applying to polytechnics.

Adult education and education given in a foreign language are not included in the joint application system.
