HostelsYouth hostels are one of the cheapest kind of accommodations, and not only for young travellers. This type of accommodation , even if without all the comforts of a hotel, offers the opportunity to know people from all over the world and to meet new friends.Moreover, hostels accept not only young people, but every kind of travellers, also families. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, although private rooms may also be available. The average price is between 9 and 22 euros per night, but private rooms can be more expensive. How to have access:The AIG, the Italian Youth Hostels Association, is associated to the IYHF, International Youth Hostel Federation that accounts for 5000 hostels all over the world.Most of the Italian hostels are partner of the AIG, the Italian Youth Hostels Association, which is associated to the International Youth Hostel Federation.To stay in any youth hostel you need to be a member of your home country’s federation of the International Youth Hostel Federation.If you don't get a membership card in your Country, you can obtain it in Italy, upon your arrival at any hostel. For each night you buy a special stamp costing € 3.00 which you should affix to your card. Once you have collected 6 stamps, your card becomes a full membership card, valid for 1 year from the month during which you bought your first stamp.
