Going out

  • There are several possibilities. First and the easiest way are going in the club or pub (as they have grown recently as mushrooms after the rain). There will probably be a crowd but if you like that, that is fine. You can party all night; you just have to find the right one as they have some kind of theme. One plays drum'n'bass, second play trance, other rock, than 80's, some play Slovenian traditional or better say popular music, than Balkan music - mostly Serbian ethno or Croatian popular, for punk, metal is also good taken care of. Enough said, selection is very large.
  • Restaurants - it's a real pleasure to be dinning out and that means both, in the city or at the county side. Both have something special to order. If you decide to dine in a restaurant that is remote or difficult to find, make sure you have the right directions and check for opening hours. Restaurants are usually open all week long. But sometimes (mostly Mondays) they take one day off. Opening hours vary so check with your hotel or tourist office or even better call. In fact, some need reservation but is not really a habit unless you are a larger group. There are almost all kinds of restaurants available. From Italian, Greek, Spanish, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Turkish etc.

  • Teahouses and coffee houses are open quite late, bars also so nobody (if doesn't want to) will be left thirsty and home alone.

  • Cinema - almost every larger city has a theater, but if you are lucky and are living in Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Novo mesto, Kranj, Koper you can visit multiplex where you can see all the most popular hits. Fun is guaranteed as most of these places offer additional services as pool, billiard, several kinds of games etc. Some have their own clubs and even casino.

  • Dance - some hotels offer dance night as well as some dancing schools and special dancing clubs. Just put on your dancing shoes and dace away.
  • Board games - are becoming very popular. You just have to gather a few people and find a place (mostly at someone's home) and the night will be very short.
