The Croatian cuisine is specific for every region, reflecting the country's geography, history, and culture. A single type of Croatian cuisine does not exist, because each Croatian region has its own, unique cuisine. The most popular Croatian food:  dalmatian or istrian prosciutto, cheese from Pag or Lika, kulen (hot-pepper flavored sausage), sarma (meat-stuffed cabbage leaves),  all kind of fish and sea fruits, pasta or risotto dishes cooked with truffles (a self-sown precious mushroom species) etc.  Traditional desserts in Croatia: rafioli, mandulat, smokvenjak, rozata etc.
