112 is the number you have to dial in case of an emergency accident. It gives you access to police, fire department and ambulance. The number is free.

Insurances

Everyone who’s insured and coming from one of the EU, EER countries or Switzerland can get a European Health insurance card from his insurance company. If you can show this card you can get the necessary help during your temporary stay in The Netherlands. This card comes instead of the E-forms. With the card you can call for help without asking permission from your insurance company. You don’t need to pay anything for your treatment, or only the things local people also have to pay for.

If you’re coming from another country than mentioned above, you’ll need a E-111 form obtainable from your health insurance company to cover the expenses for medical treatment. Also check your insurance company what will reimburse and decide if you need an extra insurance for this.
