Working / Training
Special employment agencies called UITZENDBUREAUS can help you find a job in a short time, but careful, you are officially employed by them and only send to a company to work which might offer you a contract after a while. Have a look at homepages from companies you would like to work for, there you can mostly apply per e-mail. Click on Vacatures [dutch for jobs] or Stages [dutch for internships].
Jobs for English speaking personnel can be found with the recruitment agencies www.undutchables.nl or www.bluelynx.nl (which has an international office at Schiphol Airport) and many more. Click on vacancies and then search by job type!
Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume / professional curriculum is what you will need to write beforehand (Word document wanted). This CV shall contain personal information (date of birth, citizenship, contact details, ...), education and professional information.
In The Netherlands, employers prefer a concise CV, ideally one page, but never more than two pages. Arrange your experience chronologically, starting with the most recent experience. Pay special attention to the job titles of the positions you held: is the job title the same in The Netherlands as in the country you are from? Last but not least, clearly specify your language abilities.
The Europass Curriculum Vitae (CV)
The Europass CV is a European standard model Curriculum Vitae with which you can present yourself when you are looking for a job or an internship within the EU. The sections you do not wish to use, can be left empty.
These sections do not appear on your CV. Should you wish to add extra information, for instance on your language skills, foreign internships or previously obtained foreign certificates, you can use the other Europass documents in addition to the Europass CV.
Create your own Europass at europass.cedefop.europa.eu
