There are six stretches of highway in Greece where tolls are levied. They are

  • Athens - Corinth
  • Corinth - Patra,
  • Athens- Lamia
  • Lamia- Larissa
  • Larissa- Thessaloniki and
  • Thessaloniki- Larissa.

There is a standard free throughout all toll stations of €2.80 for vehicles of private use and €7.00 for those of professional use. Gasoline in Greece is expensive and varies from gas station to gas station and from week to week. The Government regulates the highest price. Road rules are according to the rest of Continental Europe: you drive on the right and overtake on the left. Traffic on the main road has right of way at intersections. Seatbelts must be worn in front seats, and in back seats if the car is fitted with them. Motorcycle drivers should wear a helmet.
