Inter-City Bus System
Greece provides an excellent long-distance bus service, but there is no central website in English, so finding out about routes and times ahead of time can be a challenge. KTEL is the name of the Greek inter-city bus system. The majority of KTEL buses are modern, with comfortable seats and room for luggage underneath the bus and in racks inside. Seats are assigned, so match the ticket number to the number on your seat. Some bus routes may be direct, while others to the same place may have extra stops or even require a bus change. For more info about routes and timetables you can call 14505.
Athens Metro
The Athens Metro (subway) Attiko Metro has 3 Lines: the old one, Line M1 (ISAP), starts from Piraeus and ends in Kifissia, the new Athens Metro line M2 that starts from Agios Antonios and ends to Agios Dimitrios and the line M3 that starts from Egaleo and ends at Doukissis Plakentias. From there you can take the Athens suburban railway (Proastiakos) to the Airport or continue, validating a special €6.00 ticket, via scheduled routes for the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport.
There are parking spaces in Line M2 at the stations of Egaleo, Eleonas, Keramikos, Katehaki, Ethniki Amyna, Nomismatokopio, Halandri and Plakentias, and at the stations of Line M3 there are parking space at the station of Sygrou (Fix).
