Types of train

The trains travelling on the Railways net are of various types, according to the speed, the number of stops and the distance. The railway-carriages are of 1st and 2nd class, different obviously as for comfort and price of the ticket, but most of the Italians travel in second class. It is easy to distinguish immediately the first from the second class, however on train car or on the walls of the compartment or on the windows you will find written where you are.

For the fastest trains, independently from the class, it is necessary to pay a supplement, and to make the reservation, otherwise you get a fine.

On board of all of the trains it is forbidden to smoke.
