Taxi

Taking a taxi is not expensive in Portugal. Taxis are generally cream coloured with a roof-light indicating their availability. The fare paid within city limits is shown on the meter at the end of the trip. When luggage of more than 30kg is carried, an additional sum must be paid. From 22 pm to 6 am, 20% is added to the fare.

This additional amount is already included in the price shown on the meter. In other areas fares are based on the distance covered times the unit price, with VAT included. All taxis have a list of fares in French and English.
