Pre-primary school is voluntary but almost every kid attends. Children receives free food at the school and as well as morning and afternoon clubs are organized. All children who are at the school age have to attend school regardless of their legal status in Finland.

After completing basic education, students can attend to Finnish upper-secondary school “lukio” or vocational education. If students want them can both attend lukio which is more academic and vocational education at the same time? In Finland from basic education to higher education, education is for free as well as students get funding to study from the government.

According to PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) results which is organized by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Finland has the best results in international comparison for math, science and literacy across 30 OECD countries.
