Language Courses

The Language Center

8 languages on offer: English, French, Luxembourgish, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch. Normal courses are of 2 hours per week, intensive courses of 16 and 20 hours per week. Prices range from 90 to 225 €. A special price of 5 Euros per semester is offerd to people whose inscription has been done by or requested by

the ADEM (Administration de l'Emploi - Administration of Employment)
the Commissariat du Gouvernement aux Etrangers (the Government Commission for Strangers)
the Service National d’Action Sociale (the National Service for Social Action) or a communal social office and
the head of a public administration or the head of a school.

The offer is subject to the availability of places. At registration the prospective students have to present an attestation by the concerned administration.If you are a beginner: you are admitted to a class if there are enough places available. You will receive confirmation of inscription at least one week before the beginning of the courses. If at the moment of registration there are no places available, you will be put onto a waiting list. If you are registering for the first time at the Language Centre and you are not a beginner, you will be invited to an interview before the beginning of the course.

The Adult Education Service (Ministry for National Education, Vocational Training and Sports)

Evening courses for adults. Languages: German, English, Arab, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Luxembourgish, Polish, Portuguese and Swedish. The prices range from 35 to 100 Euros. The Service for Adult Education issues a pamphlet with information on all the courses offered by or in collaboration with the Ministry for National Education and vocational training. Communal Administrations

Languages courses are organized by several communes in the country. Information on registration deadlines and the languages on offer is published in the press. Most of the courses start end of September or beginning of October. For more information please contact your local administration.

Languages courses are also organized by the Syndicats d’Initiative of Pétange, Schifflange and Rodange. Please contact the syndicates directly for more information.
