Emergency services
If you don't have a doctor in Belgium and you need one, you can find one in the telephone directory. Choose one and phone in order to receive a consultation time or he will let you know when he is on duty. If you need a doctor during the weekend (from Friday evening until Monday morning) or during a public holiday, you will have to phone the out-of-hours service who, very rapidly, will send a doctor to your home.
If you are in a critical state or you have had a bad accident, don't hesitate to go (by ambulance if necessary) to the emergency department of the closest hospital. When you are at the hospital, the severity of your condition will determine how long you will have to wait.
